Pallet Love

I have just learnt about all the wonderful things you can make with pallets. On Craigslist there are always companies giving away pallets for FREE. I mean seriously what's better then FREE? Oh yeah....free creative furniture!!!!
How great is that?!?!
Or how about a Pallet couch?

Okay so they call it a day bed but I say this makes THE coolest sectional. Check out Project Nursery to see how to make this beauty!
Check out other great pallet ideas at DIY, crafts, & other projects.

Bean bag cubes

These are so cute! I am so planning on making a few of these.

Great tutorial on how to make your own Here.

Throw Pillows

Two pillows will be solid red to match the red accent wall, and two will be white with black outline square in the middle, simular to this

House of Hepworths has a great tutorial on how to create this look.

Family Pic

Infarranity Creative made a awesome shaped family photo out of plywood. I love this idea but don't want one quite as big and will also be using foam board instead of plywood(to save money).

Couch

So my idea for a couch is to get one off of craigslist. There is always tons on the free section but look awful. i came across this wonderful website Honeybear Lane with a great tutorial on making a slip cover for a couch. She used white canvas, which is more durable but I'm on a limited budget. So I've been picking up several king size sheets at thrift stores and garage sales I plan on dying black.

Here's HoneyBear's before couch.

Here's her after couch.

Isn't that awesome! She is so creative. I can't wait to start on mine!

My Living Room Idea

Excuse my paint work. I'm not that good at it but you can get the picture.

Intro

Let's start out with a introduction. For the past 6 years I have been a stay at home mom to two kiddos. 11 years ago I married a sweet, sensitive man. Through the years he turned into a verbally abusive, control freak, Mommy's boy. It's been a bad situation for the past few years but I had no hope of getting out. I have nothing more then a high school diploma and no job. So I enrolled in college to get a degree so I could support my kids on my own. I had planned on leaving once I finished school. But things have escalated and I must leave sooner. Currently I am waiting on the school year to end, as I'm planning on moving to my home town and hour away. Until then, with the support of my mom, I'm slowly moving things now and making and buying things for my apartment. So this is my journey to starting over. Please join me on this journey so it's not so lonely.
